Four looks for the gallery you hand over

Four designs, not a theme builder

This is a choice between four things somebody finished, rather than a panel of controls to assemble a fifth. That is a deliberate trade and worth being straight about: you cannot pick a font here, and you cannot move anything.

What you get instead is that all four are already good. A theme builder hands you the job of designing a gallery at eleven at night between two edits, and most of them end up worse than the default they replaced.

• Cinematic — dark and full-bleed. The original Knotflix look, and what every gallery uses until you choose otherwise.
• Editorial — light and airy with wide margins, closer to a printed spread than a screen.
• Noir — near-black and minimal, so nothing competes with the work.
• Warm — cream and rounded, the friendliest of the four.

Set once, or per wedding

Most studios pick one and never think about it again. Your studio default applies to everything you deliver, including weddings you delivered months ago — the look is resolved when a gallery is opened, not baked in when it was published.

When a single wedding wants something else, change that wedding. A winter elopement in Noir and a garden party in Warm is a reasonable thing to want, and it does not require your house style to move.

• A wedding set to “studio default” keeps following you if you change your mind later. A wedding set explicitly to Cinematic stays on Cinematic. The distinction sounds small and is the whole thing.
• Every look has a preview that opens the couple’s real gallery wearing it — their films, their photographs, their names — so you are judging the actual delivery rather than a mock-up.
• The look reaches the password screen and the expiry screen too, which are sometimes the first pages a couple sees.

What it does not touch

The look is the look. Everything that makes a gallery work is the same across all four.

• Playback is 1080p HD, downloads are full resolution, and both are identical whichever look you choose.
• Your logo, your backdrop and your studio’s details carry your identity, and those were always yours to set.
• Your public portfolio and your wedding pages are unaffected — this is the couple’s gallery only.
• Couples cannot change it. What you hand over is what they get.
