What Knotflix collects, why, and who else can see it. Last updated August 5, 2026.
Knotflix is a delivery platform for wedding studios, made by Red Bank Studio. Studios upload their couples’ films and photographs here, and couples watch them through a private link.
We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. We do not track you across other websites, and there is no analytics or advertising SDK in our apps. We collect what is needed to deliver wedding galleries and to bill studios for the service — nothing beyond that.
This distinction matters, because it decides who to ask when you want something changed or deleted.
Studio accounts and billing. When a studio subscribes, we hold their account and payment details, and we decide how that information is handled. For this data, Knotflix is responsible — write to us.
Weddings. The films, photographs, names and dates in a gallery belong to the studio that created it. They choose what to upload, who to share it with, how long to host it, and when to delete it. We store and serve that content on the studio’s instruction and do not use it for anything else. For this data the studio is responsible — so if you are a couple asking to have your gallery corrected or removed, ask your videographer first. They can do it immediately. If you cannot reach them, write to us and we will help.
From studios who subscribe:
From couples and gallery visitors:
Couples do not have accounts and are not asked to create one. A gallery link is the key — anyone holding it can open the gallery, which is why studios should share it only with the people it belongs to.
The Knotflix app for Apple TV collects nothing about you. It has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
Connecting a television stores one thing on it: a token that grants that television read-only access to a single gallery. The token identifies a device, not a person, carries no name or contact details, and can be revoked at any time — from the app itself, or by the studio from their dashboard. Disconnecting removes it, along with any artwork the app had cached.
Before a television is connected, the app shows the recent weddings a studio has chosen to publish publicly — the same ones already on their public portfolio page.
We use a small number of companies to run the service. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and none of them may use it for anything else.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone from harm. We will not hand over a couple’s wedding to anyone else.
Galleries are hosted for a period the studio sets, which couples can extend. When that period ends and is not renewed, the streaming copies of films are removed to free storage; the studio keeps their master files, and renewing restores the gallery. A studio can delete any gallery, film or photograph at any time, and deletion removes it from our storage.
Studio account and billing records are kept while the account is active, and for as long afterwards as tax and accounting rules require. Email addresses given for photo favorites are kept alongside those selections and go when the gallery does.
Everything travels over encrypted connections. Films are served through signed links that expire, photographs through signed storage links, and passwords are stored only as hashes. Gallery links and Apple TV tokens are long random values that cannot practically be guessed, and both can be revoked.
No system is perfect. If we ever discover a breach affecting your information, we will tell the people affected.
Knotflix is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Children naturally appear in wedding films and photographs; that content belongs to the studio and the couple, and is only ever visible to people holding the gallery link.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and for anything significant we will tell subscribing studios by email.
