Prints your couples order themselves — and you earn on

What the couple actually does

It happens inside the gallery you already sent them. There is no second link, no separate storefront, no account to create — the same private link that holds their film also sells them a print of it.

They tap Print on any photo, choose a size, and frame the crop themselves against the real shape of the print. Then they pick a finish, with the price for each shown next to it, and add it to a cart. Shipping is calculated before they reach the payment step, so nothing changes at the last second.

• Common sizes lead — 4×6 through 20×30 — with the full range one tap away.
• The crop is theirs: drag to reposition, pinch to zoom, framed against the exact proportions of the print they are buying.
• Four finishes: Photo print, Canvas, Acrylic and Metal, each priced on the same screen.
• A warning if a crop is too small to print sharply at that size — honest, not blocking.
• Card payment in the gallery. No account, no app, no redirect to somewhere that is not your studio.

What your studio earns

The lab charges a wholesale cost. The couple pays retail. The difference is the profit, and it is split down the middle — half to the studio whose gallery made the sale, half to Knotflix, which settles with the lab and absorbs the card processing fee.

That is half the *profit*, not half the sale. It is worth being precise about, because the two numbers are far apart: on a $143 order the studio’s share is about $43. Shipping is passed straight through at whatever the lab quotes, so it is never marked up and never earns anyone anything.

Nothing to pack, nothing to post

This is the part that makes it worth having. You are not running a shop. There is no inventory, no trip to the post office, no lab account to open, no packing on a Sunday evening.

The order goes straight to the lab with the couple’s crop already applied. They get a confirmation, then tracking when it ships. Your studio gets an email saying what sold and what your share was — and that is the entire amount of work involved.

You do not price anything either, and that cuts both ways. Knotflix sets the catalogue and the prices, which means there is nothing to configure before your first sale — and also means you cannot mark up a canvas to suit your market. A studio whose business runs on a product line will still want a storefront built for that; we say so on our comparison pages.

Connect payouts, or your share sits with us

The split only reaches you once your studio has connected a Stripe payout account. Until then those print sales settle to Knotflix, and the split is not applied retroactively — exactly as it works for hosting extensions.

It is one setup in Studio → Settings → Payouts, it takes a few minutes, and the same account receives both your hosting share and your print share. Do it during your trial, before a gallery starts selling.

Why we built it this way

We deliver our own weddings on Knotflix at Red Bank Studio, so we sit on the studio side of this split too. A couple ordering a canvas of their first dance should feel like revenue for the people who shot it, not a platform taking a cut of someone else’s work.

That is also why the odd cent goes to the studio when the split is inexact. It is a rounding decision worth about nothing, and it points the right way.
